How Can severe Rectal Bleeding Be Treated?

Hello! Since about noon today I had noticed that I have been having bleeding from my bottom, it s been bright red everytime, and it doesn t hurt at all. But it s been constant. I just used the restroom again, since I have been feeling nauseas and sick to my stomach, and just sat down and I bled again for five minutes straight. It was a slow drip and wouldn t stop even when I tried to stop the bleeding with toilet paper. I was wondering if you could give me some answers to what it may be? Thanks ;v;

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic

Rectal bleeding could be due to several reasons like hemorrhoids, anal fissure (usually associated with pain), infection, inflammatory bowel disease, colonic polyps, tumor etc.
Rectal examination, stool analysis and further investigations like colonoscopy depending on initial evaluation are warranted to confirm the diagnosis.

Please be advised to follow-up with a primary care provider/ gastroenterologist to undergo further evaluation.

Hope I was able to help you
Please address further questions/ concerns
Regards,
Dr.Lekshmi
